Annual Release Walleye Tournament
Was held on May 9th, 10th, & 11th, 2008
The Treeland Walleye Challenge 2008 had 293 contestants of which 42 were children. Participants caught, registered, and successfully released 873 walleye—this is the highest number caught in the 24 years history of this tournament. The average size of the walleye caught and released during this tournament was over 15 inches, 1 ½ inches larger than any previous contest. Forty seven walleye measured 20 inches and larger, the largest walleye was 28 inches in length.
